Sat Knits, workshops and magazines

Sue Forshaw

‘The Sat Knits’: one or two of my customers who work during the week have suggested a monthly Saturday afternoon group for those who can’t get  to the Wednesday afternoon knitting group. It will be 1.00 – 3.00pm in the shop, and like the Wednesday group we will charge £5.00 to cover coffee, tea and cakes!  The first three dates are May 11th, June 15th, and July 27th. Let me know if you are interested – you don’t have to commit to each one, but it will be helpful to know how many cakes to get in beforehand!!!

The workshops are beginning to fill up, so if you are interested get your application in. They are
April 27th               De-mystifying Lace Knitting
June 1st                 Knitting in Colour
July 18th                Understanding Charts the Textured Way
August 31st            Professional finishing
November 9th        Nordic Christmas Baubles

All the details are on the website, including booking forms.

Magazines: I am going to have a trial run stocking 2 different monthly magazines.
Knit Now is all about quick, simple, stylish designs, with over 30 patterns every time. The main focus is on quick knits that use a small amount of yarn and can be made in a matter of days, but by popular demand it also now includes adult garments. Each issue includes interviews with designers, easy-to-follow tutorials, yarn reviews from real knitters, giveaways, reader offers and shopping pages.
Simply Homemade  is a magazine with projects for papercrafters, seamstresses, knitters and beaders. It also features craft hobbies which are often neglected, such as soapmaking, candlemaking and feltmaking.
Each issue costs £4.99, and I will have 5 copies of each to sell in the shop.
