If you are interested in working with yarns or threads there’s nothing quite like coming into a shop where you can enjoy the colours and textures of a wide range of wools and silks. It’s a bit like being a child in the middle of a sweet shop!

That’s one of the things which has inspired me to open this new shop in the middle of our village. I also believe that knitting, and being creative with yarns and threads and fibres, is therapeutic and life-giving. Hence the name – Threads of Life.

I have knitted on and off for about 50 years, since I sat on the back lawn with the girl next door knitting clothes for our dolls! In between I have done embroidery, cross-stitch, needlepoint and spinning, so I've gained a lot of experience of working with threads over the years.

There is a wide range of knitting wools, patterns and accessories stocked, and also the full range of DMC stranded cottons and tapestry wools, plus cross-stitch kits and charts.

There’s a very useful haberdashery section including buttons, ribbons and more.

I can also take mail and telephone orders.

Advice and help is readily available.

News
There's still places on all the workshops. You might not think of knitting bunting, but Emma King's workshop at the end of April will include how to do beading, work with several colours, and various stitch patterns, and you will end up with some pretty bunting for the summer as well as some new techniques!
